How Nigeria can qualify for World Cup- Rangers Coach

How Nigeria can qualify for World Cup- Rangers Coach

The Technical Adviser, Rangers International FC of Enugu, Imama Amapakabo has said that only adequate preparation can make Nigeria to qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia from Group B. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Group B of the Africa Zone of the qualifiers pitted Nigeria against Algeria, Cameroon and Zambia. File: Nigerian national football team poses during the African Cup of Nations qualification match on March 25, 2016 in Kaduna. Soccer pundits have described the group as tough as Cameroon’s Indomitable Lions have been to the World Cup seven times, Nigeria’s Super Eagles five times and Algeria Fennecs four. Amapakabo told NAN on Sunday in Enugu that in spite of the group having the best in African football; Nigeria could beat their opponents with adequate preparation. He said that there was the need for consistency by the national team with the coaches given long term contracts to study and perfect the players to their pattern of play. “The national team is like other premier league clubs because it’s made up of people of the different geographical areas of the country and they need blending. “We need to start preparation on time to ensure that the players get used to the coaches’ tactics and also for them to understand themselves in the field of play. “Nigerians are clamouring for a formidable national team but it cannot be built if not through friendly matches and consistency,’’ he said. He added that the country had good players who could stand out in time of difficulties but noted that “a tree cannot make a forest’’. “A country like Algeria that is currently occupying the first position in African football ranking started somewhere with patience. “Our problem is that we mask patience while trying to build our football team and that causes a lot of problems that even the foreigners cannot build our national team over night. “There is a point to note here, African football is different from English football and it will only take home grown coaches who have knowledge of African football to get it right. “Let’s not forget that we employed the service of Lars Largaback for the 2010 World Cup but we could not even surpass the group stage. “We have to start planning for the matches now and I know that every coach will like to write his name in gold,’’ Amapakabo said.

The shocked girl told Record Online: “It just collapsed - all you saw was it fall.”

“All these people were trapped under it. It landed on these motorbikes for toddlers, I don’t know if there were any on them at the time.

”All these people were crying, it was awful.”

"I've never been so scared in my life.....it’s like something out a horror film"

Katie Burns said she had just finished riding the Tsunami rollercoaster and was walking past when the carriage crashed with children on board.

On Facebook she said: “Literally got off the Tsunami at M&Ds and then walking past and the next lot of people get on and the full thing goes off the tracks.

“Honestly never been so scared in my life, with this weather they should not be on, “

Kids and adults are still on it upside down, it’s like something out a horror film, children crying and everything.

“Literally can’t believe this, my heart goes out to everyone on it, a full load came off the track but and on the pavement, like a horror film worse thing ever heard and seen, can’t get over this.”

"Miracle if there are no fatalities"

The Tsunami rollercoaster carriage plummeted to the ground and landed on top of a child’s car ride, leaving casualties trapped in the wreckage.
Around two dozen park visitors struggled to right the carriage which ended up upside down and leaving riders trapped. The scene has been described as “carnage” by a shocked eye-witness.
Paisley Daily Express reporter Gavin McNally was at M&D’s and says it will be a miracle if there are no fatalities.
The Tsunami carriage was packed full - with ten people thought to be on board - as it flew off the rails on a corner and plummeted to the ground.
Gavin, who was at the park with his children, said: “It’s carnage.”
The Tsumani plunged off the rails at a corner.
“There was definitely people on it, it was full - about 10 people.”
“Two dozen guys ran to help firefighters to get the carriage upright after it fell kids’ cars below - the type you put a few pounds in for a shot.”
It will be a miracle if there are no fatalities.”
The park has now been evacuated by emergency services.

Major incident at M&D's theme park in Motherwell

A rollercoaster has derailed at M&D’s theme park in Motherwell.
Early eyewitness reports say the carriage on the Tsunami ride came off the tracks and plunged 30ft to the ground.
It is estimated eight to ten people were on board.
In March eight people had to be rescued from the theme park’s Tornado rollercoaster after it ground to a halt 20ft above the ground.
Emergency services rescued the ride-goers and no one was injured during the incident.

Class-action lawsuit against Jeep manufacturer triggered by Anton Yelchin death

Class-action lawsuit against Jeep manufacturer triggered by Anton Yelchin death

Complaint claims Fiat Chrysler did little to fix what plantiffs call a 'dangerously defective' shifter design

By Zulekha Nathoo, CBC News Posted: Jun 25, 2016 6:26 PM ET Last Updated: Jun 25, 2016 6:26 PM ET
Actor Anton Yelchin died on June 19, 2016 after he was pinned by his SUV, a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, while in his driveway.

A proposed class-action lawsuit prominently citing Anton Yelchin's accidental death has been filed against Fiat Chrysler, the manufacturer of the 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee that pinned the Star Trek actor in his driveway last week.
The complaint, filed in California on Thursday, claims the company has done little to correct what it calls a "dangerously defective" shifter design in the vehicle.
"There is no tactile or position feedback to the operator as to whether the car has actually been placed into the safe-to-exit 'park' gear," the document reads. "And there is no safety override that automatically puts the car in 'park' if the driver's door is open and pressure is taken off the foot brake."
Yelchin, who starred as Chekov in the Star Trek reboot franchise, died June 19 when he was struck by his own vehicle, which police say appeared to roll back, pinning the 27-year-old actor between a brick pillar and a security fence.
It's not certain what caused the accident, however the 58-page document mentions Yelchin's death several times.
His model of SUV, a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, was part of a global recall in April after drivers complained they had trouble telling if their automatic transmissions were in park or not.
The filings, which seek to initiate a lawsuit on behalf of at least four plaintiffs, are demanding that Fiat Chrysler repair the gear selectors in affected vehicles and compensate any costs.
